Thailand Considers Social Media Restrictions for Children Under 16

Thailand Considers Social Media Restrictions for Children Under 16

Thailand is studying the possibility of preventing children under 16 from accessing social media platforms. The proposal follows concern over excessive screen use, with ThaiHealth reporting that nearly three-quarters of children aged two or younger spend more than an hour on screens each day. Officials warned that prolonged exposure may affect communication, learning and age-appropriate development. Young users also face threats including cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, online gambling and advertising for products such as vaping devices. ThaiHealth and the Digital Economy and Society Ministry will examine overseas legislation while developing stronger digital literacy programmes and online protections.

They should also consider a ban on the elderly. Anyone over say 70 is banned too.

Oh ya and red heads.....no one likes gingers.

They just don't want kids to access alternative information lest they lose control.

This is trash people. 100 percent trash.

  1. Thais including many adults (including young and older parents who should be more focused on their kids / toddlers spend many hours a day glued to their phones, often as much as 12 or more hours a day.

  2. If there's legislation I would suggest making it illegal / blocking for kids under 20 years old from connection, not 16.

My Thai son's buddy took the smartpne away from his Thai wife (both husband nad wife are late twenties) because he discovered his wife was surfin nothing specific all the time she was drivig including taking 2 kids to school (total around 12km) and again coming home from school.

It's well known that students are becoming more stupid over time and have lower IQs because they are distracted by social media and the internet, no need to learn or an unwillingness to do so... just ask AI for the answer. All tech should be banned for students in the classroom as they simply don't develop properly and become lazy.
