I don't have any Mac devices but thank you for converting to Linux.

An Intel machine, whatever that last machine was. It won’t run on ARM.

ALL old macbooks will run Linux . Do not use Linux Ubuntu , too many adds and stoppages . Use Linux Mint

If you have an old Macbook ready for the scrapheap go to buy a flash drive USB 3.0 Flash drive. go to Tukcom, 4 floor, Computer shop, King Kong and ask the boss to install Linux mint on the Flash .....Back up all your important stuff. Put the drive in the Port.....it will ask you if you want to override the current system.. YES.....Linux will override and delete your old Apple program and delete it ...thats it !

Enjoy

Mint runs on Intel, not on the newer ARM machines.

Stick with what works best for you, in the end that’s all that matters.

I am really happy with Linux. I used it about 18 years ago for about 3 years then I bought the Macbook in 2014. Macbook is built to last 30+ years ...this system will now die with me ...macbook and Linux

Novacova.......and yes MINT

Is the camera, trackpad, Wi-Fi, sound and bluetooth all supported with the latest Mint or do you need to track down drivers? Anything that doesn't work that I should know about? Cheers.

Me too. Have been using Mint for many years on various Intel desktops and laptops. Was thinking of picking up an old MacBook and playing with it.

You already asked this question and it was answered, Linux Mint runs on older Mac x86 machines up until circa 2015. Mint won’t run on the later ARM machines. So if you want a Mac machine that runs Mint, get something built prior to the ARM.

No, I asked it, and appreciate the answer earlier.
