World Cup fans love the USA. Why are Americans so surprised? | Opinion

What’s not so cute is the shock some of my fellow Americans seem to be feeling at these expressions of true awe and joy from our visitors. The pushback, largely from coastal liberal elites, revolves around this theme: Since Donald Trump is president, the rest of the world must feel the same shame and horror that we do. Unless you live in a cave with no internet you've heard our cousins from England and Europe love their sleepover in the US. I constantly read comments from our US expats who haven't been back to the US in decades. They'll say because of Trump I'll never return.

Our relatives from Europe have discovered the media has been lying to them. The USA is awesome.

They don't have air conditioning in Paris.

Parisians must be enjoying the air-conditioning in the US.

Damn Those Coastal Liberal Elites!  Meanwhile back to the real world. Except for the Miami, all the cities hosting The world Cup are BLUE cities, naturally. Red cities don't like anything other than American Football. Miami the loan exception because of their "immigrant" latin population make up. biggrin

United States (11 Venues)

  • Atlanta: Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • Boston (Foxborough): Gillette Stadium

  • Dallas (Arlington): AT&T Stadium (hosts the most matches of any venue)

  • Houston: NRG Stadium

  • Kansas City: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

  • Los Angeles (Inglewood): SoFi Stadium

  • Miami (Miami Gardens): Hard Rock Stadium

  • New York/New Jersey (East Rutherford): MetLife Stadium

  • Philadelphia: Lincoln Financial Field

  • San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara): Levi's Stadium

  • Seattle: Lumen F

A bone in the throat to FOX media, which spent the run up trashing the WC & WC cities. Not to be outdone, Trump & DHS Markwayne Mullins, threatened to halt Customs B.P. at five international airports that service Sanctuary cities that are also World Cup venues. Turning the World Cup into Chaos. True colors. Yet now as it is a success, the 'Yo bros', can't resist trying to claim it as their own, not only that but toss a few turds at the Libs. Meh.

    World Cup At Lumen Field.
