Hotel Areca opening date

Featured Replies

Hotel Areca, Soi Dianna, does anyone know when it first opened?.

I read it first opened in January 2000 and the evergreen part of Areca added in around 2009.

Was my first hotel when i came to Pattaya, loved it there

Have stayed there over 25 times, now getting too expensive for what it is,so i stay close by at better prices.

I think those dates may be start of build rather than opening.

My nephew came in 2011 and we stayed in the Evergreen and it was not long open.

I can remember Areca lodge being built. January 2000 was only my second time and I think after that, but not very long.

Yeah, I have used it a lot over the years, it was always a good last minute booking on Agoda or similar. Prices went up with the refurbishments! Great location.

Opened 2002, renovated 2012.

It was my hotel of choice back in the early 2000's. In 2006 I used a business card from the Areca Lodge along with my passport (with tourist visa) to open a K bank account at the Avenue Branch. Many things were much different back then.

Oddly enough, mine too, although, I "cheated" inasmuch as I visited Pattaya with some golfing friends from Phuket who included me in their discounted package.

Whilst they were out chasing their balls (!) I was exploring the delights of Pattaya.

One of my choices also.

It is a great place, i always reccomend it to all my mates as a perfect place for first timers in Pattaya. I always stayed in the Evergreen towards the end of my staying there. Personally ,i just thought it was getting a bit expensive compared to other places nearby.

I stay there for weekend trips from Bangkok. My target price is 1700 baht and normally get close enough to that. Includes breakfast.....

We stayed a few times about 2007/8 and it was very good, seem to remember a great breakfast. When we went in 2011 we had booked the Areca Lodge but they put us in the Evergreen, had to walk over to the Lodge for breakfast, not as good then.

Remember when it was a car park, for when we were golfing from the Kronborg across the street.
