Reliable Bike Shops, Where?

Featured Replies

Hello all!

The bike shops I've been so far have greatly disappointed me so far (highly corrosive brake fluid on my tires....etc)

I'm looking for a really reliable bike shop around BKK and Pattaya, somebody who you can trust, who is able to set up carburrators on a Suzuki Bandit for example, take out the air from the brake pipes without ruining your bike...a clean and organized place with somebody who knows what he's doing, and he's doing it more for passion than mere profit....

ok, maybe I'm expecting a bit too much..... :o

but....any place that comes at least near this description??

I would love to do it myself...but haven't got enough experience to risk that.

can anyone recommend a garage?

thanks

Mks

Only one I have found so far that has some pretty professional standards is Power Station and I think they only do Harleys. You are going to be very hard pressed on this one. Big bikes are so rare that the shops that service them are mostly very small and poorly run.

Tell me about it !!, i got an 400 and anytime it leaves the "shop" I have paint chipped, plastics cracked, not put together properly. etc Bought a new battery and he put the overflow direct onto the aluminium swingarm........ and it always leaves with no petrol even though it goes in with some.

Then for some reason when I collect it, they start it up cold and start reving it maxed out....

As much as I hate working on bikes, its a good thing to be able to do basic stuff yourself, so get a haynes manual and join up with a few bike forums.

Give up on owning a larger bike. Just too much headache in Thailand. I myself finally threw in the towel because of the worthless repair shops and I'm so glad I did. All you need a Honda Phantom that any Honda shop can repair, thank god.

This is the topic of quite a few of the posts on the bike section, l think BKK/Pattaya is crying out for a solid reliable shop with basic western standards.

Asking too much, probably :D
