In Thailand you need money to have freedom.

In Canada even if you have money you have no freedom.

See you next year.

That's what he was hoping for. He's probably waiting for Alberta to separate (it's never going to happen) and then he'll move there so he can be American.

I'm from Canada. I have some money. Lots of freedom if you know how to use it.

What precisely are you referring to( this time?

I am actively looking at Edmonton real estate. I can buy 7 condos

Better get there before October so you can vote. Do you have citizenship?

I've dumped most of my revenue property. 10% to 11% a year in the stock market averaged over 40 years is much easier than dealing with tenants/maintenance etc.

Yes I am advising everyone I know there to dump their Toronthole or Hongcouver properties and look at Edmonton, a great city well under the radar but lots of room for gains. (for now. so shhhh)

I'll put the kettle on.

Money does not buy happiness, but it sure enables you to address problems, issues, and challenges in a much more proactive fashion than for those who don't have it.

Especially if you are a convicted felon fraudster looking to buy a pardon or get some insider economic tips.......or maybe looking to buy some nice chinese crap like bibles, watches, hats, shirts or some worthless crypto crap.

There's a reason why they're so cheap. They get you on the utilities, property taxes and car insurance.

It also ensures that you have a companion to take care of your needs instead of having to sugar your own churro.

You can see how well he learned from the previous administration how to do these things.

But then I guess you were happy with the auto pen running the country?

I stayed in Edmonton for a few nights 3 years ago. The downtown area is a wasteland of druggies, homelessness, crime. No one else on the streets. The one shopping centre there was basically deserted, shop after shop empty, and that's despite a multi-million dollar renovation a couple of years earlier. Office buildings from yesteryear all have 'for lease' signs on them. The area west of downtown (Oliver?) starts to get a bit better and more upmarket. But basically you need to go to the suburbs - South Edmonton seemed a bit better. But anywhere in the city centre is a pit. I remember arriving at the international airport midday and ours was the only plane at the terminal. I then took the express bus to Calgary - quite a difference indeed.

Yea, maybe you are right.

My wife had a brilliant idea yesterday to go visit Kitchener. She was watching YouTube videos and got the impression Kitchener was some sort of tech hub like Seattle or SF. University of Waterloo and all that.

As soon as we stepped out, it was druggies, zombies and puke on the streets.

Yes, money doesn't buy happiness. It buys self control and freedom.

I think the street term is f**k you money.

Got money? Don't like your boss/job? Tell your boss to stick it and walk. Done it many times.

Got money? Don't like the health care you're getting in ???. Go to a different country anf get better doctors and quick treatments. Done it many times.

The list goes on and on.
