Crowing of Roosters: Does crowing of cocks reflect the Thai economy?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

I have been in Asia a long time, but NOT toooo long, yet.

I have done extensive reading about cocks, and poultry, in fact.

When times are hard, people resort to the raising of poultry in order to add cheaper protein, yet higher-quality protein, to the family diet.

Recently, in my neighborhood, the sound of cocks crowing in the morning has become more pronounced.

Why is this?

Does the VOLUME of Cock-Crows reflect the state of the Thai economy?

Could it be that some families, maybe many families, have decided that raising their own protein on their balconies, or anywhere there might be a small open space, might reduce the amount of money they need to pay for basic sustenance?

What We Know about COCKS……:

Raising a cock, or hens, is the most efficient way to add protein to one’s diet, when one is on a critically restricted budget.

Do you doubt me?

Here is the evidence:

Or, I might be wrong…because…perhaps…..

My neighbors have taken to raising poultry as pets?

But, I do not think so.

No, I am sure that I cannot be wrong.

For the average family, raising poultry in their tiny residential yard, or even on construction sites, is the best option.

I have nothing against this practice of raising poultry in a residential neighborhood, of course.

Everybody loves the sound and the stench.

And, I might buy a few roosters, myself, next week.

After all, there is no law against doing so, is there?

ANYWHERE?

Best regards,

Gamma

Note: During the Great Depression in the USA, almost every house had a chicken coup and a rooster, or two.

Is history repeating itself, do you think?

Gamma hears a rooster. Everyone else hears a rooster. Gamma hears an economic indicator.
