Newly released drone footage reportedly shows Ukrainian forces destroying a sophisticated Russian jamming complex in occupied southern Ukraine. Starlink Becomes a Prime Target According to Ukrainian electronic warfare specialist Serhii Beskrestnov, known by the call sign "Flash", the strike destroyed a Russian system intended to interfere with Starlink communications. The satellite network has become a cornerstone of Ukraine's military operations, providing reliable internet connectivity for frontline units and drone operators. Analysts say Starlink's satellite-based architecture makes it significantly harder to disrupt than conventional communications, but Russia has continued developing specialised systems aimed at weakening its effectiveness. Russia Deploys New Electronic Warfare Systems The equipment reportedly targeted was identified as the Volna Kupol Garant system, which Ukrainian experts say uses powerful directional signals to interfere with communications between Starlink satellites and user terminals on the ground. Russian officials have also acknowledged developing technology intended to suppress Starlink, describing it as a system that overwhelms satellites with interference rather than targeting individual users. Moscow has increasingly deployed electronic warfare capabilities to protect military infrastructure and supply routes from Ukrainian drone attacks.
