US Supreme Court Upholds Transgender Sports Bans

"The US Supreme Court has ruled that states may ban transgender women from competing in female school and college sports, upholding laws that require athletes to compete according to their sex recorded at birth."

Well thanks goodness the Supreme Court has come on the side of common sense! Excellent news!

Trump uses a classic political distraction to manipulate the base: getting people incredibly angry about something that affects almost no one, so they ignore what affects everyone.

There are reportedly fewer than 10 transgender women competing in U.S. college sports.

The tactic is known as the 'dead cat on the table' strategy—drop a shocking culture-war issue to dominate the news while real issues that affect millions—like the cost of living—go unnoticed.

Meanwhile, Trump, his family, and wealthy allies quietly enrich themselves at taxpayers’ expense.

Does any political figure have an answer to the cost-of-living problem?

Nice try at changing the argument, but your tactic mirrors Trump’s—a textbook fallacy of distraction. You’re using it to manufacture a false neutrality between Trump and other political parties. Irrespective of your illogical dodge it doesn’t justify or excuse Trump’s deliberate deception of his base.

Nice long-winded stab at avoiding the question. I accept your surrender.

I don't like women's boxing. And I don't like women's tennis, as I consider it illigitimate, due to their unwillingness to play 5 set matches in the slams, yet insist on the same prize money. That is blatantly unfair. And it's a difficult thing to discuss, because the PC crowd jumps right down your throat.

Maybe I am old fashioned. I have many gay and lesbian friends, and most I know are really wonderful people. And I have met a number of ladyboys over the years, casually. Cannot really relate to that culture, but to each his own. It is a huge and highly accepted culture here. All good.

It is the other ones I am having an increasingly hard time comprehending. And not only all of the myriad of designations, but the whole PC culture surrounding the designation, the insistence on us using the right terminology, and all the rest that goes along with the uber PC acceptance stuff.

When I grew up if you liked guys you were either gay or bisexual. Now?

The US is by far the most tolerant country in the world when it comes to the whole trans, non-binary, amorosexual, decide whatever you want today, if it fits mentality. No other country is as loose, driftless, and as silly as the US, except maybe the UK. Maybe.

When a woman devotes her entire youth to a sport, and becomes one of the best in that particular area, and then a man comes along who decides to identify as a woman, and steals all the awards, all the victories, and all the accolades, something is not right in society. Something is broken, society has become morally bankrupt, and there has to be a pause, there has to be an interruption of the nonsense.

No woman would survive more than 30 minutes in the NFL. Women will not participate in men's sports because they won't be able to handle the physical endurance required, nor the brutality, nor the talent level. A woman ranked #5 on the WTA could not beat a #758 man on the ATP as John McEnroe so truthfully stated.

Hopefully all this craziness will pass and we'll return to some form of normalcy and indecency.

Finally this not so supreme court makes a smart decision. Their level of partisan decisions has been beyond disgusting.

You haven't engaged with my argument, not the other way around.
My point is that Trump is conning you with a simple distraction.
If you want to argue something else, that’s a separate discussion.

As for my 'surrender', you’ve made that up. If you're claiming it as fact, the burden of proof is on you.

Well that was really excellent, a well thought out argument that I totally agree with, until the last sentence, then you ruined it!😃

Calling this a "dead cat distraction" is a lazy way to avoid the actual issue.

The number of transgender athletes may be small, but the principle is huge: allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports destroys fair competition, takes opportunities and scholarships from female athletes, and compromises safety in some sports.

This isn’t fringe — polls show strong majorities, including many women and Democrats, support protecting sex-based categories. The Supreme Court decision is about restoring basic biological fairness after years of ideological policy, not a distraction.

Real issues like the cost of living matter, but societies can address multiple problems at once.

Dismissing concerns about women’s sports, single-sex spaces, and child transitions as manufactured culture war nonsense is condescending.

It’s not "enriching Trump" to point out that fairness in female sport is a legitimate public concern — it’s common sense that was obvious until very recently.

hahaha of course they do , every one of them, they have a thousand answers, but no solutions

Answers and solutions are not actually part of their job description. In fairness we can't really blame the elected ones , as, simply by getting elected, they have fulfilled their job description, which consists of just three words "Maintain your seat" . That is all they and their bosses care about , It is their Prime objective , it is their singular sole responsibility, nothing else matters to them, at all. If they lose their seat that's it, its over for them, back to the rat race for most of them, a life on welfare for some.

So when asked any question at all , the "answer" they give , will be the one which best aligns with their prime objective, In Truth it will never be a solution , it will not even be an answer, it will merely be a reply very often literally, a meaningless word salad , and in all probability a bare faced lie

As long as those who govern us are able to put the interest of themselves , and their political Party ahead of the interests of the electorate and the country , we will have problems ad infinitum

You’re calling this a major fairness crisis, but the scale doesn’t support that. We’re talking about a tiny number of athletes in a system of hundreds of thousands---there’s no evidence of widespread harm or systemic displacement of women’s opportunities.

Sports bodies already have eligibility rules to balance fairness and inclusion; replacing them with blanket bans based on birth sex ignores nuance and sport-specific expertise. Claims about scholarships and safety are largely hypothetical, not backed by measurable data.

Saying ‘the principle is huge’ doesn’t make the real-world impact large---it reframes a rare edge case as a national crisis.

That’s why it looks politically amplified: a high-emotion issue dominating attention while affecting almost no one.

If this were truly systemic, we’d have clear, consistent data showing it. We don’t---that’s the gap in your argument.

I can only take that as an admission that you lost the argument.
I understand it’s upsetting to realize you’ve been misled by the person you voted for.
Denial and anger are just the first stages of processing it.
