They acted like they own the city in I could see the Vietnamese visibly annoyed for the first time ever.I stayed there 3 weeks but I'm not going to go back until they start restricting tourists, it was that bad.Been there many times over the years and each time it becomes less appealing. (like Prague and Bali)The noise has become a 24/7 assault on the senses, not to mention the annoying package tourists clogging the beach paths. And don't forget the UFC bros in drunken fights at the pubs. The nature and sea is fantastic though, and the only reason I keep going back! 😅

For replacement(s) I'm going to Koh Phangan/Samui/Tao until I find something better. The air pollution on these islands are so much less than Da Nang and Pattaya and there are decent prices to be found.
June 23Jun 23 I think Vietnam falls short in some areas. One that cant be changed is the beach holidays. Whilst there are some great beach resorts like Benidorm in Europe. Danang etc. The islands just dont compete with Thailands. I dont really mean Phuket, Samui.Tao, Phi phi, or even koh Chang, but ones where you can get away from the crowd relax on some of the best beaches in the world.Mountains etc and other inland places etc it more than holds its own. Both countries are quite stretched out and infrastructure needs improving. Thailands bus system is much better although niether are particulary safe.I did enjoy the fact that the north was quite cool when we were there. Never that cool in Thailand. Some will disagree and its horses for courses.Vietnam as far as im aware does not have a retirement visa extention either which is quite important.
