Tyrannicide

Recently my German collegue friend sent me this abstract.

Classical tyrannicide takes the form of an assassination. In 514 BC, the tyrant Hipparchus was murdered in Athens by an assassin [...]. [Neue Zürcher Zeitung, November 2, 2011] Tyrannicide, however, does not refer to a deadly attack on the tyrant from the outside, by soldiers or mercenaries of other powers, but rather to an attack from within – that is, an act that comes from within the people, who are at the mercy of the dictator's violence.
