PANTONE: What is your skin-tone number?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Ever since 1962, PANTONE has set the standard for the color-matching industry.  Most folks in graphics design and in cosmetics, and almost everywhere, use Pantone standards to judge color.

Have you ever thought about what Pantone color your skin might be?

Is your skin color the same as the next guy?

If not, then what is your number?

Do you even want to know?

I do.

This is why I use: The PMS Color Chart

You can access this color chart at the aforementioned link, and then judge your skin color, and then report your NUMBER, in comments below.

Would this not be interesting?

Also, just in case you have never even HEARD of PANTONE......then you can read about it here:

Here is how to access a free digital Pantone color chart to let everyone know, or to let all TV Members know, your true skin color:

All skin colors on TV are fine with me.

But, I, personally, prefer to NOT be too white, on a beach, in Thailand....because....

One just sticks out like a sore thumb....when one is too white.....

Best regards,

Gamma

PLEASE NOTE: One of the worst looks, in my view, was Mr. Ripley in a green bathing suit with super white skin. Do you recall?

Enjoy the clip....Folks.....!!!

Note: As stated in this clip..... "America is like a fog".....

One of the worst looks, in my view, was Mr. Ripley in a green bathing suit with super white skin.

That's just the first day in Samui look.

He'll soon transition to lobster if he's not careful

With dedicated Funemplyment skills, he can gradually work up to Yeah, you look like you've been here awhile

Just put on a shirt and head for the shade before you turn into the Fine Corrithian leather couches I saw on Koh Phangan.

The sun is GOOD for you, compared to no sun at all for longevity, at a cost of increased skin cancer of course.

Women who sought sun exposure had roughly half the mortality rate of those who strictly avoided the sun.

Melanoma in Southern Sweden cohort study, which followed 29,518 women for 20 years. It found that those with active sun exposure habits had a lower overall mortality rate, with a life expectancy roughly 0.6 to 2.1 years longer than those who actively avoided the sun.

I was surprised to learn that even a half mortality rate only gave you a little more "juice" out of life.

But Swedish women are already exceptionally juicy 😄

The average life expectancy for women in Sweden is approximately 85.1 years.

Maybe....but probably only if they live close enough to the Arctic Circle...

So, anyway, Folks......

What is the BEST skin color....in PANTONE terms?

Of course, it must be: 99

Or, also referred to as: P 99

P-99, in case you might be wondering....can refer to a host of different wavelengths.

So, what is your favorite wavelength, speaking of light?

I like P 99-6 C, which is closest to the university I love most, here in Chiang Mai.

And.....

Speaking of love and P 99-6 C.....

I love you....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

I never thought it would happen.....

That a music video would be....

ALL WHITE...

Toto's bathroom fixtures are a different shade of white.

Toto offers what they call a: "BILLOWY, BALANCED WHITE".....

Which produces a "calming influence" in a frenetic world...

I would say that my own skin color is ALSO billowy, and ALSO has a calming effect on the people I meet.

Color is just so important in our world, and in so many ways.

Would a sore thumb not be red?

As a melanoma survivor I have my own opinion. However, you do you.

Wow.

Melanoma is no joke.

Also, I am extremely happy you survived....!!!!

For many reasons...

Not the least of which is that you are the only one around here who understands my topics.

(Yes, of course. This topic is about checking for skin cancer lesions, on a regular basis, among other things.)

In reality, color does not exist.

Yes, Ted. This is correct.

Color does not exist.

Color is not real, and is a figment of the imagination.

I bet you don’t even have a clue which Pantone system should be used for which materials and processes. And Pantone for skin color? You’re just so daft.

Well, but I understood the film, The Talented Mr. Ripley, on the first viewing.

Such a contrast between that shade of green bathing suit and his super white skin.

I forget how he was able to get such an ivory white skin, when preparing for the film.

And, what color are his trunks?

Wouldn't you say chartreuse?

Well, if you don't use Pantone numbers to describe your skin color, then...

What do you use?

Do you use angstroms?

Nanometers?

What???!!!!

Personally, I prefer to quantify "colors" of light in nanometers or even angstroms.

Far more accurate.

And, as I say, "color" does not really exist in the REAL WORLD....

Mostly purple..
