Trump pauses Iran bombing after warnings over US weapons stockpiles

The United States has reportedly paused its bombing campaign against Iran after Vice President JD Vance and America's top military officer warned President Donald Trump about the dangers of escalating the conflict and the impact on US weapons stockpiles.

After 13 consecutive nights of airstrikes, operations have been put "on hold," according to a Defense Department source quoted by CNN.

Growing concern inside White House

CNN reported that Vice President JD Vance and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine both expressed concerns during a White House meeting on Friday as Trump weighed expanding the military campaign.

Gen. Caine reportedly warned that while the US military could successfully carry out further strikes, there could be significant consequences, including growing pressure on America's weapons stockpiles.

Diplomacy still on the table

The White House insisted President Trump still preferred a negotiated settlement but warned that military action remained an option if Iran continued attacks in the Strait of Hormuz or threatened US allies.

Trump later told reporters negotiations with Tehran were continuing, although he warned the bombing campaign could resume with "a heavier dose" if diplomacy failed.

Pentagon weighing options

According to CNN, military leaders had already warned before the conflict that a prolonged campaign against Iran could strain key US munitions supplies.

While officials stressed the US military retains overwhelming capability, the temporary pause suggests Washington is balancing military pressure with concerns over escalation, logistics and the risk of a wider regional war.

And it brings this point: For many decades the USA has been giving Israel hundreds of billions of US dollars every month. Plus every month giving israel massive amunts of ammunitions, rockets, missiles etc.

So if the US is now needing to reduce '...rockets, missiles etc.' fired on Iran, then will the US stop sending 'rockets, missiles etc.' to Israel.

Seems that the US needs to do a very serious rethink.

Perhaps you missed the fact Trump is talking about attacking both Cuba and Mali. Nobody is expecting an attack from Russia or China, but given how much Trump likes to blow things up and feel like he's a warrior, the adults in the room will remind him that he would need Tomahawks and other weapons if he wants to expand his impotent reach.

And that's not even considering his wish to attack Greenland.

By the way, the internal US threat is to the fascist MAGAs who hate the very principles upon which the US was founded...like free speech, a free press, habeas corpus, and democracy/peaceful transition of power..

And let me add a little funny story...at least I thought it was funny....

I also have an MBA from the Stanford GSB. When I was first hired by a US fund management firm in Japan, I was asked to show my physical diplomas, which I did. A Japanese woman in Human Resources called me in and said, "I thought you went to Stanford, but the diploma you provided says 'Leland Stanford Junior University'.

The Japanese woman had no clue about the genesis of the university, which Leland Stanford, Sr. had named after his late son, Leland, Jr. The official name of what we call Stanford is actually, in full, Leland Stanford Junior University. Even those taking an MBA from the graduate school of business get that on the front of the diploma. Same for medical school grads, law grads...even the podcaster Prof Andrew Huberman is employed by the Leland Stanford Junior University.

The Japanese woman thought I had attended something called a Junior University.

And finally, I was also accepted to both the MBA programs at Wharton and Harvard Business School, but turned both down for Stanford.

For a 'harvardgrad' you seem to lack analytical skills. Did I say China or Russia would be taking advantage to invade the United States? The vulnerabilities of low stockpiles of weaponry, having a moron running the US, being caught up in yet another of Israel's wars and now stuck in this one with Iran, means China and Russia - and others - see an opportunity. Maybe Russia will make a wider move directly on NATO (e.g. Baltics), or maybe China will decide now is its best opportunity to take Taiwan.
