Translation services for Tambien Baan to English at a fair price

Featured Replies

We are looking for a Thai to English translation of our Tambian Baan for the purpose of applying on line for the immigrant visa that will meet the requirements of the US immigration website and interview at the consulate in Bangkok. Does the translation have to be certified with a stamp and sent to the MFA for legalisation?

Doesn't need legalization. I believe it's just a letter from the translation agency certifying it as an authentic and accurate translation. There's a ton of translation agencies around the embassy that know what to do.

Please correct me if i am wrong. This is no legal advice. I do not know the requirements.

You can easily get online translations for free. You scan the Tambien Baan and upload it.

If you take the translation and the original Tambien Baan to the consulate, they may check themself if it is accurate.

worth a try, question to others if this is possible, any experience

You cannot use an internet translation of a document to apply for a US visa.

The Translation and Interpreting Service Unit Thai-English of the BKK Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Arts does excellent translations of Thailand documents.

They seem to have templates for most of them.

A Chula Uni stamp on the translated document guarantees serious translation.

I've used them several times.

Last time was a translation of my Thai wife's Birth Certificate.

You send them your document to translate, they give you an estimate, you pay and they translate.

Simple.

Slightly off topic, but why did you need to translate your wife's birth certificate? Most of these documents can be issued by the amphur in English. The only thing my spouse needed to have translated was military service documents, since those could not be provided in English. But almost all other official Thai documents can be.

I have a bank account in Singapore.

Planning for my demise I had a Singapore lawyer draft a Last Will naming my wife as beneficiary.

Grant of Probate in Singapore to execute that LW will require, among other documents, her Birth Certificate.

Just planning!!

I must have needed her BC for other purposes but I forgot which ones.

I also had her Thai Birth Certificate translated in French at the BKK Alliance Française as she'll need it when she'll apply for a widow survival pension from my pension when I go.

Yes, some Thai documents can be obtained in English.

Once a year I get a TR 14/1 Certificate of Residence in English from the local Amphoe to serve as spouse proof of life as requested for my Belgian married pension.

Just planning!!

The wife thinks we paid around b300 for 2 pages of bluebook to be translated for use in applying for a UK passport renewal.
