Pakistani Passenger Jailed and Banned From Thailand Over In-Flight Assault

A Pakistani man accused of sexually assaulting a Thai woman during a Dubai-to-Bangkok flight was sentenced to three years in prison, fined 120,000 baht and permanently blacklisted from Thailand, according to the woman. She said the incident occurred while she was travelling with her four-year-old daughter on August 3. The woman alleged that she awoke while sleeping to find the man touching her and later noticed suspicious wetness beneath her blanket. Flight attendants escorted the suspect away after landing, while an airline employee reportedly observed stains on the woman’s clothing. She refused to accept the man’s apology and pursued the complaint with assistance from Tourist Police, immigration officers and Don Mueang police.
