Tucker Carlson makes explosive Israel link claim about Hunter Biden laptop

Tucker Carlson has made a startling claim about one of the most controversial episodes of the 2020 US presidential election, saying figures close to Benjamin Netanyahu pushed him to report a false allegation that Hunter Biden’s laptop contained evidence of abuse of minors. Carlson made the claim during a recent interview with Hunter Biden, saying the allegation was brought directly to people around his former Fox News programme.

‘The Israelis were pushing that fact’

Carlson said he was told that material on Hunter's computer showed abuse of minors, but now says that claim did not come from the laptop itself. Instead, he says people connected to Israel were responsible for pushing the allegation. Carlson acknowledged that he did not disclose that alleged Israeli connection when he was reporting on the laptop controversy at Fox News in 2020.

The laptop controversy that rocked the election

The Hunter Biden laptop story exploded just weeks before the 2020 presidential election after emails from a computer left at a Delaware repair shop were published by the New York Post. The material raised questions about Hunter's overseas business dealings, including his role with Ukrainian energy company Burisma, while his father Joe Biden was vice president.

The laptop also contained deeply embarrassing personal material involving Hunter's drug use and sexual activity. But Carlson's new allegation concerns something quite different: the claim that the computer contained evidence involving children. Current reporting on Carlson's interview says there was no such material on the laptop.

A claim that was blamed on Russia

Carlson went further, saying he believed the allegation had subsequently been attributed by former US intelligence officials to Russian disinformation. He said he had always believed there was far more to the story, claiming that pressure in Washington made people reluctant to question whether Israel was involved.

“Maybe the Russians had a hand in it,” Carlson said, “but it was the Israelis who were pushing that fact.” The allegation is Carlson's account and has not been independently established by the evidence reported so far.

Hunter Biden backs Carlson's account

Remarkably, Hunter Biden himself told Carlson that he did not know exactly who was responsible for disseminating material from his laptop, but claimed that several groups may have been involved, including Russians, domestic political opponents and what he described as a “Netanyahu operation centre” on the Israeli side.

Hunter also joined Carlson in attacking Netanyahu, calling the Israeli prime minister “evil incarnate” and rejecting the suggestion that criticism of Netanyahu should automatically be regarded as antisemitic. The comments have already attracted considerable attention because of the extraordinary political alliance on display: the son of a Democratic president sitting down with one of America's most prominent conservative commentators and agreeing on a highly controversial account of the 2020 election.

Why the revelation matters

The significance of Carlson's claim is not that it proves the broader Hunter Biden laptop controversy was fabricated. It doesn't. The laptop and much of its personal material were genuine, and the FBI had obtained the physical computer. Rather, the potentially explosive allegation is that a specific and particularly damaging accusation about child abuse was deliberately injected into the story by outside actors and then misrepresented as Russian disinformation.

The last paragraph seems to be the important one :

Story still stands , just the claim about israel is new.
