Long time since here - feels good! 🙂

Wife and I spent a number of years(happy) in Chiang Mai area both with Retirement NonImmi O Visa - the type needing 800K Baht in Thai Bank.

Caught out in UK as Covid arrived - then nasty bout of Cancer - now vanquished - so I am told.

Both still very fit despite all (Invictus) - Gym x3 a week - and want to get back CM.

Kept Thai Banks etc.

Funds not a problem although no longer in Thailand - at present UK based.

On checking it seems a 'plethora' of possibilities now available - DTV LTR Non O? etc,etc.

Anyone experiences / suggestions gratefully welcomed.

If you've got the money, LTR hands down. Five-year extensions, no tax on money brought in from overseas, annual reporting instead of 90-day reporting, fast track at airports, access to BOI One Stop for issues (as opposed to having to deal with general immigration) and work permit if you want to do any work.

LTR would win hands down for me, not having to deal with immigration, would swing it for me, DTV seems a good option for now, not sure how long it will last though, getting 5 years for a cooking class etc, i can see a clamp down on that at some point, the non o retirement is cheap not a bad option, i would stay away from the Q-X, visa, the O-A seems ok if you do not want to keep money in Thailand but there is the police check and health insurance needed.

Health insurance needed for LTR as well, though a waiver is available in exchange for $ in the bank.

LTR-WP is the only way to fly.
