American action star and Russian citizen Steven Seagal’s Russian bank account has been blocked by the country’s Federal Tax Service, the Moskva news agency reported Wednesday.

The Sberbank account was blocked in order to ensure the collection of a tax, penalty or fine, Moskva cited documents in the Bankinform database as saying. A spokesperson for Seagal told Moskva that the block was most likely a mistake.

Seagal received Russian citizenship in 2016 and was appointed Moscow’s envoy for Russian-U.S. humanitarian ties in 2018.

The actor is an outspoken supporter of President Vladimir Putin, describing him as "one of the great living world leaders" in a 2014 interview.

Seagal also has multiple sexual harassment allegations filed against him in his home country of the U.S.

I'm surprised that he's having that kind of trouble as he seems to be good buddies with Putin and has been quite useful for Kremlin propaganda.

I do know though that the Russian banks are under stress and the regime there is taking all kinds of unconventional measures to fund their genocidal war against Ukraine.

Trouble is an anagram of ‘To ruble’, it might even be the verb.

Steven is no longer a young man, like many here. What's most important to seniors? Guaranteed, fast, free, and high-quality healthcare. Steven knows he won't get that anywhere else in the world except Russia. That's why smart people choose Russia.

He was very tall and handsome when he was younger, married a Japanese wife, and was the first American to teach Aikido in Japan. Rogan says he was legit, but his martial art was not. Into Chinese medicine. Such an interesting man, Russia is very lucky to have him. That big movie stars like him and Depardieu gravitate towards Russia says a lot about the great pull Russia still exerts in the world.

Depardieu, like Stephen, is no longer a young man. He's now a Russian citizen and certainly won't die waiting in a several years long line for medical treatment at some Western clinic which will want an endless list of documents and a lot of dollars just to prescribe you paracetamol.

Very true the Western European countries have such a failing health care infrastructure Depardieu is lucky to enjoy the care of virile and vigorous medical establishment. They gave us LASIK surgery after all true, innovators Russian doctors.

The propaganda coming in thicker and deeper.

He's right the NHS, the German health care system, they are all failing. It's Russia where true innovation and advanced research is being done now. LASIK is just one example. Wagner is looking for a lot of blue eyed boys from Ukraine as we speak.

Waiting in line for hours to get a wee bit of gas for your car to even go the doctor is the Russian way.

Just a minor blip, which the British and Americans experienced as well, the whole world really, but there's no denying Russia must be envious of the great Donald Trump's Venezuelan oil deal now. Just imagine what dumping 300 barrels on the market will do to the price...

Russia's healthcare system is ranked 57th out of 89 countries in the 2025 Health Care Index, and a Bloomberg report ranks it last out of 55 developed countries based on the efficiency of its state healthcare systems.

Thanks for the effort, though the link does not work, and I have to say when it comes to efficient health care systems, few could beat the Russian system, where abortions take a mere 11 minutes, the woman is strapped on the bed with leather belts and...well, I don't want to go into deatils, but it is very efficient.

Be sure to print out this rating on a piece of paper before your next visit to a doctor in the West. If the doctor says toilet paper at his clinic costs $100, you'll save money and put this list to good use.
