Rayong Raid Finds 18 Chinese Nationals Working Without Permits

Police arrested 18 Chinese nationals during a raid on a data centre construction site in Ban Chang, Rayong, on August 19. Officers entered the project as part of a wider inspection of foreign labour and said several Chinese and Myanmar workers ran from the site when authorities began checking identification and work permits. Police pursued the group and detained 18 Chinese men, none of whom were found to have the required permission to work in Thailand. The men were charged under Thailand’s foreign employment regulations and transferred to Ban Chang Police Station for further legal proceedings. Authorities said inspections will continue at construction sites and other businesses across Rayong as part of efforts to reduce illegal foreign employment.
