Nene Royal appears on Times Square screen before AGT

Featured Replies

Thai singer Nene Royal has appeared on a large LED screen in New York's Times Square ahead of the live-show stage of America's Got Talent Season 21.

The display was part of a campaign by CP, which placed Nene Royal on the screen at the famous New York tourist district to encourage her before the competition's live rounds.

Nene Royal, whose real name is Rattikan Amloy, has progressed through the Judges' Callbacks to reach the Live Shows after performing Muse's Hysteria.

Support message in New York

A TikTok user named Ka Jame shared an image of themselves in front of the display. The LED screen carried the message: "Thailand's Pride Nene Go Go".

In the accompanying post, Ka Jame said that Nene and 100 lucky winners had created history in Times Square, adding that they were proud of Thai people.

The post also offered encouragement for the singer's upcoming appearance, saying it hoped she would do her best, enjoy the stage and leave the judges amazed. It added that Thai people across the country were supporting her.

Times Square is one of New York City's best-known visitor areas, and the display gives Thai fans and supporters a high-profile show of backing before Nene's next television appearance.

Live show begins on 26 August

The next round of America's Got Talent Season 21 is due to begin at 7am Thailand time on Wednesday, 26 August.

Nene's advance to the live shows followed her performance of Hysteria, originally recorded by British rock band Muse. The live rounds will determine whether she continues further in the competition.
