I've been housebound for a few months and haven't updated that relic of the past, the bank passbook. Upon updating it today, I noticed it had aggregated a bunch of recent transactions. Whereas each entry in the account shows well over 500k for the last 6 months or so, I was wondering if a vigilant IO at CW might quibble that my balance might have fallen below 400 during the 'dark' period. Anyone had any experience with this? I might just pick up a statement while getting the letter for my 'marriage' extension, just in case.

You need to get a 12 month statement. Don't bother trying without it.

The io at CW will pick it up.

Note kasikorn no longer has branch at CW however you can obtain the bank statement (200b) and bank letter (100b) days prior.

Don't forget to update bank book on day of application

If the extension is based on Thai spouse then the financial requirement is only 400K in a Thai bank for 2 months prior to the extension application.

Once the extension is granted there is no minimum balance, you could withdraw and spend the lot in-between extension applications.

I always obtain just a 3 month statement prior to submitting my next application.

I disagreed with your posts as the OP stated his extension was based on Thai wife.
There is no requirement to keep 400K in a Thai bank account throughout the year, as the Op appears to think there is.

I missed the marriage extension bit.

You only require 400k in account for two months prior to application and for under consideration period.

No I am well aware of that. My Extension is mid Oct. For a few weeks earlier this month, there are no specific entries in my bank book as they've all been rolled into a total. I was rather surprised to be told I needed a 12 month statement. I assumed 3 months would be adequate just to cover the period when the entries were amalgamated as that would cover the 2 month seasoning needed for marriage extensions. (Mid August to Mid October.)

Did you update the passbook in an ATM, or at a branch counter?

Yes apologies, I also didn't react to the marriage part. But nevertheless, a statement, 3,or 12 months, is available on request at Kasikorn. So no problems for your upcoming extension👍

That was your problem.

In the case where the transactions exceed the available space on a page, it will consolidate the transaction.
In branch at a counter, they can flip the page to list all the transactions at your request.

Actually it was a new page in the book with just one entry at the top. There was plenty of space. Also those machines prompt you to take out the book and flip to a new page when they're full. I think the aggregation was just due to the time between updates.

Always better to get bank passbooks updated in-branch rather than at external PUM's IMHO, so as to minimise the risk of transactions being overprinted (which could prove problematical should you have the misfortune to have to deal with a particularly fussy IO at annual extension of stay time).

I don't think it's an essential, the update savings book on extension day and adding a payment is enough. I live 60km round drive from the bank and only go and update a few times a year. The 12 month statement is the critical one, at my recent extension there was 3 x IO's analysing it.

Depends on one's local immigration office though - there are some which insist on both copies of relevant passbook entries and a 12-month statement.

If you go to a branch, I think they will print out the missing transitions on official paper and staple it in the back of the book.

Not in my experience nor the MANY first hand reports of extensions at CW.

12 month bank statement and Bank letter letter can be obtained days prior to application (up to 7 however a couple of days prior recommend)

Bank book must be updated day of application. I do that via a 100b deposit as it updates and shows activity
