Pattaya Nightclub Argument Escalates Into Shooting

Two men were injured by gunfire outside a South Pattaya nightclub early on August 31 after a disagreement reportedly began inside the venue. Police found 29-year-old Mongkol with a gunshot wound to his right calf, while 36-year-old Ratchaphon suffered a wound to his left foot along with swelling to his face. Investigators recovered a Glock 43 9mm pistol and discovered bullet damage to Mongkol’s pickup truck, while his girlfriend told officers that the weapon belonged to him. Mongkol claimed he fired in self-defence after a group surrounded his vehicle, but Ratchaphon gave a different account and said Mongkol fired three shots following an earlier dispute between them. Both men were detained as investigators review CCTV footage and examine social media posts showing Mongkol taking part in firearms training and wearing what appeared to be official-style clothing.
