Da Nang opens arena free for Pickleball World Cup

Da Nang is offering free general admission to Tien Son Sports Arena for the Pickleball World Cup, giving residents and visitors a chance to watch one of the sport's biggest international events without buying a ticket.

The arena on Phan Dang Luu Street will admit the public from 8am each day until Saturday, while VVIP access remains ticketed. The tournament runs from August 30 to September 6 and brings more than 5,000 athletes from 65 countries and territories to the city.

World Cup centrepiece

Tien Son is the main venue in a network of seven tournament clusters. It is hosting the opening and closing ceremonies, professional matches and Vietnam team fixtures. Organisers say participants from 78 countries and territories registered for the event, setting a Guinness World Records benchmark for the largest number of nationalities represented at a pickleball tournament.

The free-entry arrangement is intended to bring spectators closer to the competition as Da Nang stages an event with a substantial international profile. The city has invested heavily in sports tourism and is using the tournament to showcase its capacity to host large events alongside its beaches, hotels and transport links.

Tien Son Sports Arena is at No. 3 Phan Dang Luu Street in Hoa Cuong Ward. Visitors should arrive early, particularly for high-profile fixtures and ceremonies, as free admission does not guarantee a seat once capacity is reached. The VVIP area is separate and requires a paid ticket.
