Phnom Penh has unveiled a new Airport Express Bus service connecting Techo International Airport directly with the city centre, offering travellers a safe and affordable alternative to taxis.

The service, operated by the Phnom Penh Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority, runs daily between 5.30am and 10.30pm. Buses travel along Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard, cross the Morodok Techo Flyover and continue down Preah Monivong Boulevard before terminating at Kouch Kanong Roundabout.

A single trip costs just 1,500 riel, making it one of the cheapest ways to reach the capital from the airport. Officials say the service is designed to ease travel for both domestic and international passengers, while reducing transport costs and fuel use.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak invited British Ambassador Dominic Williams and embassy staff to experience the new route, highlighting its role in supporting Phnom Penh’s growing visitor numbers.

Local authorities emphasise that the express bus not only provides convenience but also allows passengers to take in views of the city’s rapid urban development along the way.

With Techo International Airport now fully operational, the express bus is expected to become a key link for tourists and residents alike, offering a reliable connection between Cambodia’s newest aviation hub and the heart of the capital.
