Canadian Man Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assaults at Bangkok Shopping Centres

Thai police arrested a 58-year-old Canadian man accused of sexually assaulting female employees at several Bangkok shopping malls. One reported incident occurred at a clothing store in the Lat Phrao area, where the suspect allegedly pretended to measure trousers against a salesperson before touching her inappropriately. Investigators later connected him to similar allegations elsewhere in the capital, including an incident involving an employee at a Chatuchak-area mall. Immigration officers tracked the suspect to a condominium on Rama IX Road and arrested him on September 10, with police reporting that he admitted to the alleged offences. Authorities said he faces prosecution in Thailand before his permission to stay is revoked, and he is deported and placed on an immigration watchlist.
