afrosau
Hi, I was under the impression that sex toys were illegal in Thailand. Yet someone sent me an email about a product called Tenga, which is basically a masturbation toy for men hehe.. A thai person read the FAQ for me and said they claim that the toys are legally imported from japan. So now I am curious if there has been any change in the laws; I don't know so many Thais that I can ask about this.

Jingthing
Maybe things for male masturbation are OK, but traditional female oriented toys are not? Anyway, interesting. Assuming the d-words are still illegal, anyone want to bet which becomes legal first in Thailand? A. sex toys B. casino gambling C. farangs can buy land Edited September 4, 2007 by Jingthing

suegha
Forgive my reference to the op. sex toys are illegal in Thailand??? How could this be a law? Can someone 'seriously' explain please? I mean, how can sex toys be illegal anywhere? Edited September 4, 2007 by suegha

If they were legal, there would be. Nuff said. Thailand is funny that way, the reputation and the realities hold alot of contradictions.
Crossy
Certainly illegal to import, a shipment was intercepted last year. There was a photo in one of the papers, they'd laid out a bunch of assorted sizes, including some huge inflatable things, then got the smallest, cutest police women to hold them up for a better picture. Wish I had a copy of that piccie

From what I've heard there are a few anonymous mail order shops supplying demand, but the illegality of sex aids here remains one of the quirks of a country that is rather arse-backwards about sex in general. Can someone 'seriously' explain please?I mean, how can sex toys be illegal anywhere? I was also be interested to hear the exact details of the law. At what point does an object become a sex aid? If someone decided to have some fun with a frozen hotdog, would that make the hotdog illegal; and would it make all frozen hotdogs illegal? Or does it have to be an object which was created for the sole purpose of being a sex aid? And if so couldn't they just market the dildos as "Door stops" or something... kmart
How about all those wooden dongs used in local religious ceremonies / fertility rites and the like? Are they legal? Or do they cease to be legal after adding batteries?
