In this event, investors can learn about Thailand’s economic, investment and policy environment from a range of experts, including senior government ministers and officials, and business leaders. The target group for this conference include fund managers and institutional investors from Asia, Europe and North America. The conference will include one-on-one and small group meetings involving 73 listed companies and decision-makers from institutional equity fund management firms who have significant involvement in Thailand.

The Thailand Focus 2007 will be held at Plaza Athenee in Bangkok between September 12th and 14th. Joint organizers include Phatra Securities Company Limited and Merrill Lynch Company Limited.

Good idea, but they should be prepared to discuss the political situation. Also the 30% withholding isn't so exciting. Time restrictions on repatriation of funds are ok, but keeping 30% from being deployed into assets isn't.
