French Bulldog Needs A New Home!

We have a 9 month old French bulldog named Gucci. He is still a puppy, full of energy and mischief to no end somedays. He is of "pet quality" because his colorings are not to standard. But he is a bulldog in every other manner, snorting, snoring, burping, but thankfully no flatulence.

We just had a baby last week, and it has been very difficult with the dog and baby. Gucci absolutely adores my wife (a Frenchie trait) and wants to be with her 24/7. This just can't happen anymore as she needs to take care of our son. Gucci needs attention, and he will start being "bad" if he doesn't get it. This includes jumping on my wife, and grabbing things. I am fearful that between Guccis stubborn plays for attention and his jealousy that something tragic may happen to our tiny son.

By no means is Gucci a Bad Dog. I have had many dogs in my life and with a minimum of work he would be fine. French bulldogs also mellow out considerably as adults, they are well known as good apartment dogs. But I travel a lot for work and my wife just doesn't have the skills to properly domesticate Gucci. And with the baby she won't have the time or energy.

Like many bulldogs he has food allergies and has to eat non-allergenic foods or he gets skin rashes. This is easy enough to do locally, the food is available and is not expensive.

I am considering taking him home to the USA, but I thought I would try this first as that will be expensive. We would love to find him a home in Krabi or Ao Nang, preferably with an expat more familiar with "farang" dogs. Some place where we could still see him from time to time if the new owner was amicable to that. But we will let him go anywhere in Thailand that we can find him a good home.

Hi,

I just read you ad regarding the adoption of your french bulldog. I am an english guy living in bangkok. I have been here for the past two years and have a thai wife and live in a 4.5 million bath house with 7 other dog's. All my dogs speak english as do my wife and i, and we are a dog loving family. We breed Bull Terriers and at present have a litter of 4 pups. If you would be so kind as to reply to my message so i can talk to you further.

Yours sincerely,

Hi Kirk

Was thinking about a bull terrier. Would be grateful if you could answer a few queries

- can they be brought up to live happily (at least safely) with cats?

- are they ok living with ther dogs?

- will they attack neighbour's dogs if left out on their own?

- what sort of price are you wanting foe a pup, do you have pic to email & how old are they now?

All the best

Hi triffid,

In answer to your questions,

- can they be brought up to live happily (at least safely) with cats?

Yes they can. If introduced to the cat when the pup is of an early age then they'll be fine.

- are they ok living with ther dogs?

Same applies to this question. introducing them to each other at an early age.

- will they attack neighbour's dogs if left out on their own?

Generly they wont attack dog /people/ cats, as long as you socialise them well. If you keep them in the house 24/7 then they will become very protective of their owners.

- what sort of price are you wanting foe a pup, do you have pic to email & how old are they now?

The price your looking at for a decent quality of pup is around the 18,000฿ to 25,000฿ mark. Anything cheaper than that and you need to start asking yourself question's as to why its so cheap. If you purchase something from a market, no matter what it is, then your really taking a big risk. Using a dedicated breeder like myself is always the best to guarantee a quality and healthy dog that will be your companion and freind for many years. I had to leave Oscar in Cannes when I moved to Chiang Mai. Both Oscar and I were grumpy and if we both didn't get our ways WATCH OUT. I look at his pictures every day and I know that I can't replace him but I want to

I am curious if a 100,000 baht house would be ok to keep a french bulldog, or it would need to be a 4.5 million bath house and above. Seems a lot of coin to pay for a bath house, but i guess the moggies get the 5 star spa treatment.
