I sent my 90 day notification off a few days early as usual and it came back within two days.

But the date on the returned slip for my next 90 day report is the date of expiry of my visa extension in Mid-October which is nowhere near 90 days away. Is this normal?

I always take the 90 day slip with me on my extension run anyway, but I can't remember this from last year.

Perhaps they are trying to align my visa date with the 90 days date.

That sounds like something they might be trying to do but it is not likely to work unless there are other changes planned as most people renew extensions about 3 weeks early.
