Honda Transalp 400

Featured Replies

Have a friend with a 94/95 Honda Transalp 400cc bike and he just got hit by a pickup. He's ok (bruised ribs) but his whole front end is screwed. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for him?

Thanks

If its been front ended it needs to go on a jig really to make sure the headstock angles are ok. As the bike is an import you wil probably have to source one abroad. You could try some of the islands like Koh Tao. They tend to have offroad trailie type bikes so someone may have some kicking about. Good hunting :o

You're in a slightly difficult position, cause as was pointed out it does ideally want to go on a jig, but are they available in thailand? It has an ally frame, which don't appreciate being bent and certainly don't like being bent back. You also ideally need to x-ray an ally frame to see if there are any cracks not clearly visable.

If it was mine I would settle for a careful visable check then strip what's left of the forks and order new sliders, springs and whatever other parts are needed from farangland. And then just hope. Good luck
