Emuu
It's all very well to object to a compliment, but what are the alternatives? Would Ron and others prefer being insulted? Actually the truth may hut even more!!! Imagine walking down the street and having an observant individual ask "How are you you purile, ugly, obese, obnoctious, half witted pommie bastard?", or whatever the actual observations made lead one to. If the choice was mine, I'd rather they lied a little (maybe a lot) and stuck to "hansome man".
Up2U
There's always the basic 'Darling' which can be formed from 'Dah Ling' (or thereabouts) which can be translated as 'Monkey's Arse'.
Eggy
Emuu, ever heard of spellcheckers?
WISteve
Seems that ol' Ron needs some attitude adjustment. The little brown charmers are only asking him to stop in and spend a bit of money after all. Do I detect a bit of that "glass half full, half empty" controversy? A smile and a laugh back at them will do you some good, buster! ~WISteve
dfwbkk
There's some honesty to be heard from the young ladies trying to usher you in though: - hello pohm-pooi, hansum man... - hello chang noi, hansum man... - hello farang, hansum man... etc... we tend to block out that middle adjective, don't we? Membrane
Better to be called "han-sum" man, than to be called "hom-san" man...
