IS anyone else who is using the T-Net 30 day unlimited package having problems with Outlook Express not being able to connect to the mail servers to recieve e-mail.

For the last 4 or 5 days I have been able to send but have not been able to recieve email using Outlook Express. I've gone thru the troubleshooting procedures recommended on a few sites and they mostly indicate that it's likely there is some blocking been done by the ISP.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems before I go out and buy some hours from a different ISP and try that.

Cheers

I had the same problem with outlook and TA.

I tried switching ISP to KSC and had the same problem

Thought it was my webhost but they kept telling me it wasn't.

They told me to change my outgoing server SMPT settings (in outlook) to that of my ISP (TOOLS/ACCOUNT SETTINGS)

i.e.

from mail.hostsave.com (my webhost) to mail.click.com (telecom asia) This didn't seem to solve the poblem

I changed email editor to mozilla thunderbird and now have no problem.

http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/

does the same as outlook but doesn't give me connection problems when recieving.

Thanks Sel

I have tried thunderbird already and I have the same problem. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to complicate the email.

I even tried it on a second computer-------- exactly the same. For a while I thought it had something to do with the Mydoom virus that was going around last week so I got the patches and came up clean.

Time for more head scratching.

hi'

try Eudora :o

never had any problem with it :D

anyway better than any microshit's ones and as a stand-alone application,

it does not depend on any failure of any browser's suite :D

with Linux, I run Evolution, and useless to say that I'm satisfied as usual :D

hi'

Does Eudora let you check more than one email account easily?

sure ... as many as you want :o

I currently have 8 accounts and I can check them one by one or all of them :D

to check all of them just hit ctrl+m ...

just be careful that some pop account ask you a special setup for the login name,

such as: name%[email protected] ...

check this before ...

and some also ask you an authentication, if you use Eudora for sending with the same server as smtp :D

try it is adopt it :D

cheers
