Sam125
Hi, I have a new non immigration "O" marriage visa and the first 90 days expires Nov 29th. I would like to get a one year extensition as soon as possible. I have a US embassy certification of income and can put 400,000 baht in a bank account if that helps. 1) What is the closest immigration office to Bui Yai that I can use? Address hours & phone number please. I am about one hour and 20 minutes from Khorat (and in Nakonratchisima province) and around 2 hours from Khon Koen, by train. I am walking distance from the Bui Yai train station and do not have a car. I prefer to go to Khorat. 2) Special advice? 3) What is the soonest that I can extend the visa? Thank you very much! The immigration office is in Khorat. They have just moved so do not know the new address. Someone will 400,000 in the bank is not needed. 40,000 Baht a month is. Plus marriage cert. wifes ID, wifes house document, photos of you and wife outside house, photos of you and wifes clothes in wardrobe, map to your house and anything else they want to see. Can extend to one year 1 about 3 weeks before your entry expires.
lopburi3
The wife herself is also a requirement. And 30 days prior to expiration of permitted to stay is usually the earliest they want to see you. You should have a bank account with something in it (joint account fine) and have the normal bank letter of account balance/passbook copies to match. A selection of photos should be provided to include in and outside home and with house number visible on one. A sketch map may also be useful. Make sure 4x6cm photo is less than six months old for the TM.7 application form.

Sam125
Thank you - very much for the information! I will visit the office during the first week of November.
billrose
If you are coming into Korat by train, you will need to take a Tuk Tuk to the new Immigration office, and make sure he takes you to the correct office. There are many TOT offices in Korat. This one is on the No 2 road about 12Kms out of the City heading towards Bangkok. Quite a long Tuk Tuk ride! There are now a small number of Taximeters in Korat, better and cheaper than Tuk Tuks, the call centre number is 044-342255. Sam125
Great information. Thank you. My wife is pregnant and due the first week in January. We will probably combine a prenatal visit in the afternoon to a Khorat hospital with a morning trip to the immigration office. The local Buayai public hospital is ok for small matters but for a baby a bigger hospital seems like a good idea..... What time does the immigration office open and how early should I be there to be first in line? Allow say 2 hours for the visit? TerryLH
"Allow say 2 hours for the visit?" It shouldn't take anywhere near that long if you have the paperwork with you. I know someone who got a B extension there last Friday. He told me he was finished in about 15 minutes. I believe him because I had a similar experience extending my O there last year. billrose
Sounds good. Thank you. I'll arrive early and allow 1 hour to be safe. Do you know what time they open? Not sure but I think it's about 8am. They break for lunch between noon and 1pm. You rarely have to queue more than 10 or 15 mins.
