Hi

Im heading to Bangkok in November and have been searching the net for places in bangkok to buy jewellery display stands and cheap beads (not gems!!)

I ve had no luck so far as the sites i find all have US prices and are way too over priced. I'd like somewhere i can barter as i'll be buying quite alot of supplies.

Does anyone know of any places i can purchase? The display stands are the top priority rather than the beads.

you want to take the stands home or use them in thailand?

Supplies and beads are not difficult to find...Just go to Mahesak Road and start walking..also along New Road near the Gem Tower..Prices are good and plenty of variety..

That is RIGHT, Mahesak Road is the strip for all jewellery things. All along the street, get in a cab, go there and you will see, take a walk check them out. Don't worry you would find what you're looking for there.

after shipping, i doubt buying stands is worth it.

As you go down Silom to Mahesak road turn right at the junction. On the left hand side the first jewellery display shop you come to I've found to the best. The stands are not super-high quality, but they're good and well-priced. For better quality there is a shop on Chareonkrung Road (the road that follows the river past Oriental hotel) towards Chinatown. Stands are definitely cheaper in Thailand...especially if you're taking them back with you.

Beads are in Pahurat market...loads of choice, very cheap. Walk to it near the Grand China Princess.

The Platinum wholesale mall is brilliant for all beads etc
