Can any one give the low down of just what you get for your Baht.

My mates thinking of using it.

BUT he's lazy wants everything done for him.

I.E. doing the paper work, standing in queues.

The JackGolf website goes into exhaustive detail about their service,

it looks like the current price is 6,600 baht all-inclusive. I've been to

Savannakhet twice as an independent and I can attest that they

babysit their clients. On the way over the friendship bridge they help

with the forms, at the consulate they help with the forms, I think they

even have one of their guides pick up your passport for you the next

day. So if you need to have your hand held maybe it is a good thing

but you also lose a little flexibility with your trip if you go this route. :o

6,600 is for sharing a room with a stranger if you want a room to yourself it's an extra 400 baht, and the hotel they had when I went was in the middle of nowhere so nothing to do after you come back from your evening meal sit around the hotel drinking.

OK if your not confident enough to do it yourself.

Professional visa runs to Savannakhet, this will surely destroy this last outpost/hope.

This was one of those intrepid 'saftey zone' consulates - no more.

i had before used jacksgolf service many times.... and was always great service .. as they have lots of staff traveling along ... if there is any problem they weill be beside you ... its almost impossible to get lost ... or run in any problem.

so well the price is high but the service level is quite good ...

also the bus tours (cambodia) very well organised .. they have staff on the field, in bangkok and in the bus.

Thanks Guys.

As you can see from my abode I'm only 2 kms from Savanaket via the ferry, shame falangs can't use this service now.

My mate wanted me to go with him to help him to do his paper work ( As I said hes lazy when it comes to this), but with a re-entry stamp costing 2 k to protect my Visa & 1500 to cross the river.

His bus ticket up here our cost of stopping over there.

I thought it would be cheaper for ( AND ME) if he took the JG visa run. I've heard Good & bad so don't know what to tell him.

JG website give you little in sight on actually what you get service wise.

Well I just have arrived from Savannakhet by Jack Golf.

First of all I would every time use Jack Golf. The stuff is very helpful ...and Gift has returned. :D

6.600 bht sounds a lot, but don't forget (travelling, Laos and Thaivisa, accommodation, meals and trips through Savannakhet are included, don't forget all the service)

But the consulate a big bull shit. I went there to get an ED visa. I had all papers and documents which were necessary. Only the letter of the ministry of education was in copy, because there were 7 people included and not everyone could get an original letter clearly. They avoided to give the ED visa, but touristvisa. They have told me to get the ED visa at the immigration in Bangkok is no problem. The immigration told me no, you have to apply abroad. End of the story bullshit... and the stupid farang have to bear all additional costs.

I know a lot of people who had similar problems

Please be aware that Savannakhet also issue only 2 tourist visas per year.

To everybody good luck if you go there, I will go to Vientiane again :o
