upcountryboy Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hi All Like many others I am unsure of what is going on regarding tourist visa issuances and would like some clarification please. My first tourist visa was from Savannakhet and the second consecutive tourist visa was from Vientianne. Now it is time to go and get another one but unsure of wether to go back to Vientianne as it would be ideal for me when I am in Udon Thani visiting friends this week-end as my extension ends on October 7th. Am I likely to encounter any problems if I go to Vientianne. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

sniffdog Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Jackgolf.com reports that a 3rd in Savannaket if only given if one of your previous TRs is issued in another country. It doesn't say if it's that particular consulate or country which governs these rules. According to a newspaper in Pattaya, Penang has also limited the TRs to three. Unknown within which period.

ryosuke Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I call to one of the agency in Malaysia and ask about getting 4th TV. The guy told me that if I didn't get a red stamp on my pssport,I can get one more TV, He also mentioned me that I might get red stamp for this time. He also told me that I need special document If I want to get TV with red stamp on passport. I ask him that what kind of special document do I need to get TV with red stamp, He said proove of money transfer from outside of Thailand or Bank Statement, but it seems he was not sure about this.

Why would you want a TV with a red stamp? Perhaps you were talking about what was needed to get a TV WITHOUT a red stamp???

How did you manage that? sorry for the delay, just got back to LOS.... In LA, Thai Consulate askes how many entries, so I put 2 and paid 60 bucks. Thailand is a great place and more than fair to those who live by the rules which they establish. The majority of the problems come from this site when people tell you the sky is falling and don't want to change no matter what is given as a choice.

He's obviously refering to what you need to do to get a tv, if you already have a red stamp from a previous tv request.

The majority of problems are from people who don't wish to travel back to their homeland to get new tourist visas. It's fine if you have a good reason to go back home, or you're going there anyway, but doing that expressly to get a new tourist visa would be ridiculous.
miniwai Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hi, just posted on another topic my experiences in Penang and the "official unofficial" response I got to the red stamp issues . See here Hope this is of help.
