E-mail To A Thai Mobile Phone...how?

Featured Replies

I'm in North America and it would be useful to send e-mail from my PC (running Vista) to a 1-2-Call number.

Can anyone help out?

I searched the first haf dozen pages of this forum but didn't trn up anything...

Thanks

You can send an SMS free of charge from your computer. Not sure about email. Some MMS services ask you to go to a computer and log in after receiving the MMS.

If the Thai phone is set up for email, you just send it the normal email address and they can access the email with their phone.

If the user has a mobile from AIS and their telephone number is say 081123456, then the email address of the phone would be:

[email protected]

The email would be received as an MMS text message - It is not an SMS message so the phone must support MMS. Most new phones do. The user must first contact AIS call centre and have the service activated. There is a monthly standing charge of 32 baht for the service. Can be used on one to call. You don't need a permanent account.

I find it very useful. For instance I get my yahoo calendar reminders emailed direct to my phone. Cool eh!

I'm not a DTAC user but they have the same service.

I just called 1175 (AIS Call center) and was told that they have stopped this @mms.ais.co.th nowadays.

Is this correct information or the usual BS from call center girl (not knowing what she is telling)??

DTAC is more convenient, as they have the option to send and receive email via SMS.

In addition, you can send 50 free text messages monthly to any DTAC mobile telephones.

Sure ... What could be easier !

Naka.
