I am interested in opinions regarding banking with HSBC Offshore.

I have my retirement in cash in the USA earning 5%.

Been considering taking this money offshore.

Anybody have experience opening an account with HSBC Offshore?

What are the costs to invest and what returns are people getting?

Any reporting to the USA regarding earnings?

Can a lawsuit in the USA attach this money?

Thanks

I looked into the HSBC for an off shore account. I think the minimum start up was 5000 pounds. You could get a credit card as well with this accout. The downside for me was the 25 pound monthly fee for the account. Further looking into off shore accounts saw that the best one with a credit card was the Royal Bank of Scotland. Again with credit card and a monthly fee of 9 pounds.
