Passport Loss - Visa Info Loss?

Featured Replies

Hello, somebody know what happens when you lose your passport and get a new one issued at the embassy. what happens with whatever visa you have since you have no stamp or tm card?

thanks.

Seb1405, on the http://www.immigration.go.th website they have some basic info.

Outline of the procedure: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...p?page=service#

(click on "other services" then "transfer of visa in case of loss")

Here is the form: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/downl...ansferstamp.doc

Sometimes the website is dated, so view these as guidelines, expect variations. :o

Interesting to note they say police report required whether lost or stolen.

You will (should) get a letter from your embassy when you collect your passport asking immigration to transfer your entry stamp to the new PP.

Unfortunately they will only be able to insert your latest stamp (and extension if you have one) any actual VISA is lost, only the consulate that issued it can replace and they often charge sufficient that it's more viable to get a new visa.

It's alway sensible to keep copies of your latest stamps and TM card, it makes life easier for immigration in the event of a loss, they will thank you for it :o
