Visa Or Not

Featured Replies

Hi going to Thailand soon for 9 weeks have a return ticket so do I need to bother with a visa or not any help regards Jim........

Get a tourist visa valid for one entry. Upon entry into Thailand you will receive permission to stay for 60 days. Before these 60 days are over, go to any immigration office in Thailand and apply for an extension of stay by 30 days, fee 1,900 Baht. Take 2 passport photos with you, photocopy of your passport and arrival/departure card.

This will cover your 9 weeks without having to leave Thailand.

Hi thanks for fast reply will be stopping in northen Thailand near Chiang Rai so could I just do 2 border runs and not bother with a visa or extension mainly wanted too know if their would be any problems with leaving the UK without visa and staying longer than 30 days?

The problem, you see, is that the date of your return flight won’t be within 30 days from your arrival in Thailand. At check-in in the UK, the airline may not like this and refuse you to board. It’s their computers that tell them to stop you.

Most airlines use the database of Delta Airlines.
