Hello,

Realise visa's topics are like a stuck record so I apologise now for yet another thread?

Out of Thailand for 31 days. Then on leave in Thailand for 25 days. (work 4on/4off oil industry, Aus) These 25days in Thailand are split, since go back to the UK for 7 days to see my children (grown up).

To prevent exposure to any Australian tax liability, company is giving me one offshore trip off. Means I will have a possible 73 days in Thailand so will break the 90 day in any 180days?

Problem is for the last 3 years been coming and going on a 30day TV. So only expose myself to a possible maximum of 75days in any 180days, actual amount of days spent in LOS is 54 in a 180day period. With me having all this extra time off, starting 10th Jan 08 need to sort something out sooner rather than later??

1) Have my name on a lease for a house I share with the GF.

2) Do not have a Thai bank account (will get one Nov?).

3) Going through a divorce in the UK, so cannot ship 800,000bt, nevertheless fail the 3month rule????

4) Have salary advise notes (Posted to my Thai addresss) showing greater than 65,000bt a month since March 07

5) Picking up my 2nd (new) passport when back in the UK, in November. Have one page left in my old one???

6) Going back to the UK in November 4 full weekdays?

Can anyone see/suggest a solution or must I spend a few weeks back in the UK (atmosphere terrible? Divorce in progress) or is it feasible to spend a few weeks in Cambodia doing sight seeing??

Any and all advise welcomed, already had some good pointers via personal mail from fellow posters so thanks to all of those kind/helpful fellows out there.

Regards

Don't understand your problem - if you are getting a new passport in a couple of weeks just get a visa to Thailand - it can be a tourist visa from any Consulate as tourist visa days do not count against the 90 days in six month rule.

You also have the option to obtain a non immigrant O visa from Hull or another such consulate as that would make entry/exit very easy and cover you for a year.

Expect you must be over age 50 with the 800k talk but if you obtain a retirement extension of stay you will then also have to obtain a re-entry multi entry permit at an extra 3,800 baht. If you want to do that you will need to have your income stated on a letter from your Embassy.

Hello Lopburi3.

I am in the dark about this 90day visa thing, not that I am thick (Maybe I am?) Just been happy to go along with the 30day TV and since the 90 day in 180 rule did not affect me, never concerned myself to understand it. In other words if I am now putting down "innane dribble" please have patience with me.

I have two options since my UK home is in Berkshire, a run up to Hull, or across to Swansea?

Can you or any member kindly advise me what consulate is the most accomodating?

1) What exactly do I ask for at the consulate. (Just that I want a 90 day visa, that simple?)

2) What documents do I need to take with me.

3) Do I have to give a reason for requesting a 90day visa.

4) If successful can I renew my 90 day visa at Jomtiem, or do I need to do a 'border run'.

5) Can I just turn up at the consulate without an appointment?

6) Do i need a police clearance letter, how long does it take to get one?

7) How many 90 day visas can I have in succesion?

8) Now the dodgy part? Is it possible to leave on one passport when flying to the UK and re-enter Thailand on the other? My new passport will be identified with my new address, the old with my old address.

Thanks, realise that the answers to all the above questions can be found in the Forum, but slightly apprehensive that I may interpret that information the wrong way?? Does that make sense??

You can apply to the Hull consulate by post or in person.

Just follow the link for all the details.

No police clearance needed

With a 1 year multi-entry Non Imm visa you can enter as many times as you wish during the year.

You will get a 90 day stamp each time, even on the last day of the life of the visa.

As long as you are flying you can leave on one passport and arrive in the other. Nothing dodgy about it at all!!

At land borders the officials will generally check for an exit stamp from the other country,

so you must use the same passport

1. Multi entry non immigrant O visa to visit friends in Thailand.

2. Passport (and you can download fill out forms or do in office).

3. To visit friends is what you are doing and should work.

4. The visa is valid for one year and would have to be renewed at Hull - but that allows unlimited 90 day stays.

5. Yes - 0930-1600

6. No. That would only be required for an O-A visa issued by London (retirement).

7. Unlimited entry and each entry valid for up to 90 days.

8. Yes. You just have to enter/exit Thailand with the same passport.

Actually he was asking if he could leave Thailand on one passport and then return to Thailand on a new passport. This is just fine. But if you are doing it with a Tourist Visa, then you need to be using the passport that has the Visa. Really the only thing you need to do is to arrive and leave a country on the same passport. You can switch between leaving a country and arriving in the next one. Although like astral says, if you are doing it at a land border, they usually like to see the stamp from the country you are leaving.

I really thought that was what I said with the "yes" and the "enter/exit Thailand with the same passport".

My bad, sorry. I read your reply completly the opposite from the way you wrote it.

Sorry again.

Hello Lopburi3.

Came back to the UK yesterday, drove from Newbury, Berkshire, to Cardiff, Wales this morning. Only in the Consulate 15/20 minutes. Lady behind the desk extremely helpful, by even helping me fill in the form?? Handed over £100. Now have a multi entry, non 'O' 90 day visa. Leaving the UK Thursday 15th for Thailand. Thanks for your previous advice, it was so simple a process cannot understand why I was getting worked up??

Best regards
