Hi,

I spend about four months of the year in Nakhon Phanom spread over five visits per year. I still work in the UK as not old enough just yet for my pension. I rent a house there with my girlfriend.

Just returned to the UK a few days ago, return flight booked for 21st November.

Don't know if this qualifies me as living there or not, but a frequent visitor for sure.

Regards

Mr Conrad

Hi Tubber, I've not moved to NP yet but my wifes family come from there and we are planning to move there in the next 12 - 18 month. I'll be in NP on the 7th February for 4 nights and if you are in the area and you have time then it would be great to meet up for a beer and maybe exchange vies on many things. I don't know the area very well but they live directly across the highway from the airport but we'll be staying in the River View hotel.

I just wanted to get an idea of how many ex-pats if any, were living in the area, feel free to send me a PM and we'll see if we can get something sorted out

Take care

Carlo

I have seen road signs for Siisongran just can't remember where.

There is a crossroads about 15-20 Km outside Sakon Nakhon on the road to Nakhon Phanom which takes you to Si Songkhram, I think it is road 2132, but not sure.

Another way is off the Nakhon Phanom - NongKhai road about 10Km north of Tha Uthen.

Hope this helps.

Hi Brigante7

I have lived in Nakhon Phanom for the last three years in a complex called Amporn 2 which is on the by road to Nong Khai about 3km from the town centre. There are about 9 farangs who live here most of the year a mixture of Aust,English,Irish,German,Swede,American,Belgium. If you like the quiet life not a bad place to live there is a nine hole golf course about 6 km from town not to bad a condition for a country course and very cheap.

When you are up this way again you a welcome to call in and say hello and have a beer if you reply i will give you my contact numbers and email address.

Cheers Kevin.

Hello,

I have been visiting Nakhon Phanom several times. It is a very nice place with a few nice bars and restaurants. And I always like to walk besides the Mekong. In september I will return. At that time my house will be finished in Ban Nungpraduk: a small village, 20 K from Nakhon Phanom. I will live there with my girlfriend, her son and my brother. So two fresh farang from Holland will join the expat-community :o

Kind regards,

Marcel de Korte
