Dear All, in my previous post in October 2006 I asked the same basic question: is it possible to stay 1 year or longer in Thailand by applying for tourist visa (60 days + 30 days extension) over and over again? No 30 days stamps on arrival, just the old-fashioned tourist visa every 3 months, from different embassies in S.E. Asia and possibly from the one in your own country. Last year, the rules were new and unclear, so the answer was: lets' wait and see what happens. Now, after 1 year, how's the situation? Does anybody live as a permanent tourist, exiting every 3 months and coming back with a new tourist visa?

Thank you very much for your attention.

Yep, the jig is up, at least for now. Maybe things will go back to normal after the elections?

Well the operating hours of many thai nightlife places here on ratchada seem to be approaching pre-Thaksin era times .... so if that can go back to the old days ..... why not other things?
