kankaroo
Bloody idiot, what the hel_l was he thinking ?? Although I don't believe ecstasy is all that bad a drug (done my fair share in the past :-) he is going to get life for this. I mean HOW, HOW, HOW can you be so stupid. They found precursor chemicals so he was obviously clever enough to make the stuff. Couldn't he have just done that in the UK and use the profits in Thailand ??? Bye Bye ! Theyreallrubbish
I hope they catch and lock up every single one of these drug dealing scum for a very long time. I personally think drug prohibition is a mistake but the more farang criminals there are in Thailand the more the rest of us get tarred with the same brush in the Thai mind. Scott
My first thought on this and similar cases is: Does he have a work permit? I always wonder how these people manage to stay, although having a lot of money probably makes it easier. Too bad, and I know a school that is looking for a good chemistry teacher! sriracha john
well, there you go... complain and a report pops up that wasn't there 30 minutes ago.... Thanks for the tip-off, Dave. TRICK OR TREAT? POLICE CONFISCATE DRUGS AND EVIDENCE WORTH 1000 MILLION BAHT Pattaya police investigators raided a big house in Jomtien and arrested an Englishman and his Thai wife for producing and distributing illicit drugs. Police discovered raw materials and almost 6,000 illicit drug tablets, ready for distribution. They seized evidence worth about 1,000 million baht. On 31 October 2007, at 5:30 PM, Police Commissioner Police Lieutenant Colonel Adisorn Nonsee, directed Police Lieutenant Colonel Athaphol Sudsai, along with a police team and police dogs to execute search warrant No. 543/2550, dated 31 October 2007. They searched house No. 403/67 Moo12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi after police discovered that the house was a place where illicit drugs were being produced and distributed. The police team arrived at the house in Moo Baan Jomtien Palace near the Hanuman roundabout and the Pacific Jomtien Hotel, Jomtien Beach. It was a large two story house, with fencing all around. The house was worth several million baht. The owners of the house were Mr. James Marcus (50), a British citizen and his wife, Miss Linrat Chalawatworachote (36). Police showed the couple the search warrant and began to search the house. Police found a bag of methamphetamines on Mr. Marcus’ person and another two bags in the ground floor bathroom. In an upstairs office, police discovered sixty-five bags filled with amphetamine, totaling 5600 tablets in a safe next to the office desk. Police confiscated evidence, including the drugs, three bracelets, weighing 97.5 grams, eleven bank books totaling about ten million baht, ATM cards and three mobile phones. In addition, police took a brown Honda CRV, license 4236, Chonburi, a bronze Harley Davidson 1903, license 999, Bangkok, a yellow and white Yamaha Fino motorbike, license 176, Chonburi and 204,500 baht in cash. Altogether, the evidence was valued at about 1,000 million baht. Mr. Marcus confessed that he had been living in Thailand for four years and operated a company serving foreign tourists as a front for his drug business. He has been producing amphetamine for export and also to sell to high society customers in Pattaya. He has made a lot of money from his illicit business, enabling him to buy a large house, worth many million baht. Before his arrest, he had been concocting new illicit drugs. Police Lieutenant Colonel Athaphol declared that police had been tracking this illegal operation for more than three months. When the police amassed enough evidence, they had a search warrant issued and found much illicit evidence in the house. Mr. Marcus’ illicit products were to be distributed to Europe; and to drug parties in Bangkok, Pattaya and nearby provinces. Many of the drugs were being prepared for distribution on Halloween night. Police were unable to find the drug pressing machine. Police theorized that there must be another location where the pills are being produced. Police will further investigate so they can apprehend and arrest other members of this illicit drug gang. - Pattaya Daily News ===================================== A billion baht worth of stuff.... He must be an extremely clever man to make these drugs and fairly big time, you wonder why he wasnt bright enough to get someone else to do the donkey work for him. kmart
The "factory" to produce those drugs would not be in any sane person's house. Crystal meth and most other processed drugs like Ecstasy are very dangerous to produce in large quantities, due to the ether and other highly inflammable and explosive fumes produced... No way is this a one man operation.
