15 passengers injured when bus plunges into creek in Lampang

LAMPANG: -- Fifteen passengers were injured, four severely, when a Bangkok-Chiang Mai air-conditioned bus crashed into a bridge rail and plunged into a creek in this northern province.

The accident happened at 4:29 am on the Phaholyothin Road in Tambon Thoneburi of Thoen district.

Police said the driver, who fled the scene, apparently fell asleep, causing the bus to crash into the bridge rail.

The driver was identified as Krissana Nathungkham, 38.

Update:

A Thai bus that went missing two days ago has been spotted drifting around space, apparently captive of the Moon's low gravitational field.

It appears in trying to end his shift before the start of his favorite football team's televised game, along with his passengers, the driver apparently reached escape velocity, 11 kilometers per second, missed the curve and shot out to space, easily escaping Earth's gravitational pull. Faint radio communications at 5 minute intervals could be heard with different passengers saying "Hew Kaooo" along with the background sounds of the movie MAN ON THE MOON, starring Tony Clifton, playing on the bus's entertainment system.

NASA is planning on sending a rescue probe containing som tam, water and lottery tickets later on today, just in time for tomorrow's draw.

Our sources say the lack of oxygen outside the vehicle has apparently kept the driver from fleeing the scene.

:D:D

Now I know what the large red object that crashed to earth a few hundred metres beyond our bonfire party was last night.

A guy in a smart black uniform with more badges and wings than a Top Gun pilot went rushing away from the scene, while the rest of the walking wounded came up looking for a free meal. They weren't very impressed with the bland fayre and on discovering there was no somtam, lao kao, or chilli sauce went rushing after the limping driver. Later, tortured screams were heard in his general direction and this morning we found the smouldering remains of a Thai guy in the fire. :o

Fleeing the scene has to do with many things, but one of the big ones is getting the crap beat out of you by an angry mob. I have witnessed this happening on more than one occasion. The vehicle with the most people in it just get out and start wailing on the driver of the other vehicle--even though he was not at fault.

Generally, this flight is not long lasting. The police usually find them at home or at a nearby relatives.
