Hi,

End of this month my Multiple Non-B expires so now i need to go get a new one in a Thai Embassy.

Normally i travel every 3 months to Europe so it would not be a problem for me but for the year end i stay in Thailand so i not travel outside asia.

As i m since this year married to a thai national it would be more convenient for me to obtain a multiple Non-O as it requires only a marriage certificate, not like a business B which involves lots of paperwork.

In which country near Thailand can i get a Multiple Non-O without many problems, im not applying for a extension of stay based on marriage, only a multiple Non-O without all the requirements.

How many days would it take and the cost for travel and visa fee ? I m travelling from Phuket....should i go to KL or Penang or somewhere else ?

Thanks in advance

Can only comment on Singapore as it's the only one I've tried ... you can get a 12 mth multiple entry 'O' if you bring originals and signed & dated copies (by you and your wife) of your marriage certificate and your wife's ID card, plus you need a passport-style photo.

You will also need to show the equivalent of Bt 400k in a recent bank statement (doesn't have to be in a Thai bank account apparently) ... if you cannot show this financial support they'll only grant you a 3 month visa.

Don't know this years visa fee ... when I got my last 'O' in late 2006 it was S$220 - so figure on that plus some

Allow 3 days / 2 nights for your trip. Travel down the night before you visit the embassy. Go to the Thai Embassy at 370 Orchard Road very early (8.00 am, say) as the visa section opens first thing and there's usually a queue.

Collect your passport with visa the following afternoon (after 2.00pm I think) so book your return flight for the early evening and go direct to Changi from the embassy.

Penang is presently probably the best chance. KL has sometimes been OK. And as said Singapore if you can show 400k.

A quick one.

What about Manila?

How are they?

Just about at the bottom of any list.

Ohhh!

Really?

I regularly fly to Manila to visit colleagues, and stop by on of the company (I work for) offices.

So it would be so much conveniant for me to try to get a Visa there.

I really thought the embasseys operated under the same rules and regulations.

So what makes the Manila Embassey more difficult?

Manila has a bad reputation, but you should try it and let all the posters know how it went. I can"t see them refusing you a 90 day one. I think they are almost obligated to give you that. Make you have signed photo copies and the original marriage certificate with you. I got a non-O in hochi minh, easy as punch, but I didn't ask about multiples. Hanoi is also a good bet. Used to love to go to Yangon, but their attitude may have changed. Katmandu is a walk throught the park; down load the application from the internet and focus on the payment procedure. They issue multiple entry B's and O's. Columbo, Sri Lanka issues both also. I don't know about Jakarta.

Ho Chi Minh might be an interesting choice.
