Dear All,

I'm 27 years old Indian planning to go to Bangkok and work in one of the 5* hotel in Bangkok. As per the discussion with the employer they will provide me a work permit. But my concern is I need to sponsor my wife and bring her also with me to Bangkok and we’re planning to stay together.

1. To sponsor my wife in Bangkok what is the minimum requirements for an expatriate?

2. Do I need to have a specific range of salary to sponsor my wife?

3. I know that there are different types of dependent visa in Bangkok. For which type of visa I need to apply?

4. If I apply usually how many days it takes to get it approved?

5. Are there any difficulties to get family visa (sponsor wife) for an Indian in Bangkok?

6. As per the kingdom rule what all documents i need to carry with me in the country to stay together?

Apart from that i want to know that what is cost of living and taxes in Bangkok?

How difficult or how much is the approximate amount i need to spend to get a single bedroom apartment in the country?

Any body who is there in Bangkok or Bangkok please help me with all my queries before i take a false decision and regret in the future.

i never been into Bangkok or Bangkok so far. Now I’m in Middle East and please help me to decide

1. One year extension of stay from Immigration and proof of legal marriage.

2. To obtain above your salary must be 45,000 baht per month or higher.

3. Wife would apply for a non immigrant O visa and then obtain extension of stay to match spouse.

4. You will need the extension first - which will require a work permit first - which will require several weeks or longer - you need to talk with employer. Then you have the extension process which is likely to take several months or more (if all is in order). If a new company this could take a year or more.

5. There is very strict paperwork requirements that your employer must furnish and meet, on a yearly basis. But this applies to everyone.

6. You will need proof of legal marriage for her to receive visa or extension of stay.

If your employer is not aware of procedures you might want to hire, or have them hire, a legal firm such as Sunbelt as this is not an easy process for most people.
