Bangkok waste water treatment plant damaged in fire

BANGKOK: -- The waste water treatment plant of the city administration at Chong Nonsee in Bangkok's Bang Kholaem district caught fire Tuesday, prompting its operation to be shut down for two weeks.

Somsak Klanpoj, director of the Drainage Department, said the plant had to be closed down for repair for two weeks.

He said the fire broke out at a motor and quickly spread through a pipe for controlling the odour but officials managed to control the blaze quickly.

The fire broke out at 12:30 pm and 35 fire engines took over an hour to control the blaze which engulfed the entire 4-floor building.

If my home catches fire, I hope they get it under control faster than "quickly," if quickly means it will blaze for over an hour and engulf the entire building!

interesting that water installations do catch fire. If office buildings can use water sprinklers why the industrial building, and build almost on the water, can't have them?
