Vehicle Tax Office/government Building In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi all,

It's that time of year soon when I must go forth and renew the road tax on my bike.

Any ideas where I might find the place in Chiang Mai?

Cheers

JK

There's a drive-thru office set up for that in Nong Hoi across the road junction from the Holiday Inn (Sheraton, Westin!).

Of course, the main one is on Hang Dong road across from the very near end of the airport runway.

I think they only do car stuff there - I do know that the place near the Holiday is the the right one for changing registration details having wasted an hour or so at the Hang Dong Road office.

I just got my insurance for the first time through a helpful broker (Kuhn Waytid 053 357 949: office near Champuak Gate, inside the moat 30m past the movie rental store) and he took care of the tax for me. I only paid the 100 bht (+ 1 bht fine for being a week late!) which I thought was a really good service. Compulsary Insurance was 360 bht which I think is about the norm.

We've paid ours in Central Airport Plaza. There's a govt stall there.

That's a new one on me. Is it easy to find? Whereabouts in the plaza?
