My first few years in Thailand i used to go to a fair bit of time and trouble fighting my way through crowds at JJ market and the like, searching for that perfect gift for the family back home, both birthdays and at Christmas. As the years went buy i found it increasingly more difficult to find good gifts, and also became confused about what i had sent to who; worried that i might send the same gift twice.

The next few years i started using the internet more and more - Amazon and Interflora mainly.

As Christmas approaches yet again, and with quite a few nieces and nephews to think of, i'm once again faced with the challenge. I'll opening admit that whilst i enjoy the giving part, the whole business of not only finding and buying gifts, but wrapping and posting, is one that i find utterly tiresome.

What do you do about gift buying for loved ones at home?

Get married ... either your new wife will take over this onerous chore or you

will no longer be able to afford gifts.

Naka.

LOL :o Nice suggestion.

However...

although a wife might remove the burden of gift shopping for other relatives and friends, i would have a new and potentially far more expensive and worrisome task of gift buying for the missus - and when you include anniversaries, Valentines, making up for doing stupid stuff, birthdays, etc... i think your idea might backfire.

Enough said.
